There are various different types of self defense for women. Some types of self defense for women include forms that involve hand to hand combat. There are also types that use martial arts techniques and the uses of reflexes. There are even types of self defense for women that involve the use of firearms. Verbal self defense is also used in many cases.

Basic self defense for women will involve combat without any weapons. Generally using the body is the only type of self defense that most women have. With self defense training a woman can learn how to protect herself from any dangers that may come by. Reflexes are generally the most common focus of self defense, and with training a woman will be able to hone her reflexes so that she will be able to react sooner to an attack or an attempted attack.

Martial arts is one of the most popular and fastest growing types of self defense for women. Some of the classic forms of martial arts, like Kung Fu and Tae Kwon Do, are especially popular. These practices will help to improve one’s strength, stamina and flexibility. These factors will be especially useful in the event of an attack. The most recent development in martial arts, Tae Bo, has been used in self defense practices too.

Generally the use of a weapon is intended to be a last resort for a woman in the event of an attack. Firearm training is one of the types of self defense for women that is especially going to be important. Firearm training will include handling and shooting a weapon properly and safely handling the weapon so that no innocent person is hurt.

Verbal self defense is the last of the types of self defense for women to consider. Sometimes if a woman says the wrong thing she will be hurt or even killed in the event of an attack. With verbal self defense lessons the woman will be able to know what to say in the event that she is attacked so that she will be able to fight back and be more intimidating to the attacker so that the person will give up and stop trying.
